This piece is one of my favorite songs. Lyrically it tells a great story about love and loss and surrender. Musically and harmonically it's one of my favorite sequences of chords and color changes. I chose to approach it from an accompaniment point of view with a rubato introduction and voice and then a really great groove for improvisation.

On this particular track I also had the great honor and privilege of being able to invite my friend Andreas Oberg to collaborate and improvise with me. I love Andreas’s playing and we've been friends for a number of years and he was extremely gracious to offer his creativity and virtuosic guitar skills. My focus here was to create a real dance of accompaniment between myself and the vocalist and soloist. Robert Johnson on vocals, Christian Teele on Drums, Kip Kuepper and Chris Engleman on Bass.
